Job Summary
The Digestive and Liver Division of Internal Medicine is looking for a Biostatistical Consultant I. This position has potential flexibility for both in-person and/or remote options. The candidate will support 2 providers Drs. Cotter and Louissaint:
- Dr. Thomas Cotter specializes in general hepatology and transplant hepatology, with interests in all liver diseases including alcohol-associated liver disease and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
- Dr. Jeremy Louissaint specializes in liver diseases and liver transplantation, focusing on improving the outpatient care of patients with cirrhosis.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in biostatistics or related discipline, or MPH with a concentration in biostatistics.
Minimum one (1) year experience in statistical consulting with preference given to experience working in a biomedical or health care environment.
Requires working knowledge of SAS, SPSS or other major statistical package (S+, R, etc.) and Microsoft Office (ACCESS and EXCEL).
Job Duties
- Collaborates with investigators to identify problems and provide statistical consultation including design of experiments, analysis of data and interpretation of results.
- Writes statistical portions of manuscripts based on results of analysis and addresses manuscript revisions based on reviewer's comments.
- Performs statistical computations and provides graphical and tabular representations.
- Develops, maintains and modifies programs for in-house use.
- Collaborates with investigators in grant development including statistical design of studies and preparation of the statistical portion of grant proposals.
- Performs non-statistical components of consulting such as providing examples and explanations using non-technical terminology.
- Visits client's work field whenever possible to establish rapport and become familiar with client's research and data.
