We are looking for a Senior Employee Benefits Consultant to join our Employee Benefits Sales team.
Responsibilities
- Production of New Business
- Meet annual sales goals with a focus on mid-market opportunities.
- Cross-sell other Univest lines of business (banking, investments, etc.).
- Develop relationships with centers of influence.
- Engage in community involvement and develop referral sources.
- Conduct cold calling and maintain a prospect database.
- Meet with prospects to determine insurance needs.
- Present capabilities and close sales.
- Assist in transfer of Book of Business (BOR).
- Maintain production reports and attend all sales meetings as required.
- Retention of Existing Business
- Maintain relationships with existing clients, serving as primary contact/team lead.
- Negotiate with carriers at renewal.
- Create renewal presentations and lead renewal meetings alongside the Account Management Team.
- Provide strategic direction of accounts.
- Work with the Account Management team on wellness initiatives, compliance, and employee education.
- Adhere to established workflows and support Account Management.
- Miscellaneous Responsibilities
- Support Practice Leader in developing and maintaining carrier relationships.
- Participate in team selling situations with other consultants and support staff.
- Promote agency and insurance industry within the community.
- Perform other specific duties as assigned.
- Follow Univest Way Fundamentals.
- Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to this position, including the Univest Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
- Consultative selling skills.
- Advanced knowledge of all benefit lines of insurance coverage, products, and services.
- Working knowledge of the Mid-Atlantic Region preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of Employee Benefits industry experience.
- Proficient in both fully insured and self-funded contracts.
- Leadership skills.
- Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Products and Salesforce.
- Licensed in Life & Health.
