Summary:
Under minimal direction, functions as top level technologist supporting end user. Performs highly technical and complex functions, including technology planning and acquisition, development and maintenance of project management and system development methodologies, special on-line system architecture (OSA) projects, interface projects, special training assignments, departmental marketing, and research and development. Functions as a consulting resource to all Information Services departments and/or clients as assigned by the Chief Information Officer or Director(s). Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
- Minimum five years information systems experience in health care that includes supervision/management, consulting or vendor capacities, or any combination of the three.
- High level of diverse technical experience related to studying and analyzing systems needs, system development, processes analysis/design/reengineering, particularly in emerging technologies.
- Highly skilled in the use of personal computers.
- Proficient in programming languages, mainframe, client server and/or network technologies - specific languages and technologies to be dictated by the projects to which incumbent will be assigned.
- General knowledge of mainframe, mini and microcomputer hardware.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimum direction, provides leadership to others, and adapts to change.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ten years information systems experience in supervision/management, consulting or vendor capacities, or any combination of the three in health care.
Physical Demands:
- May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
- May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
- Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
- Ability to read job related documents.
- Ability to use computer.
