This role is responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting and selling cash management services and merchant services to businesses within the Credit Union’s membership and local community. The primary goal is to establish and maintain strong relationships with business Members and merchants, while ensuring they receive top-notch business services and payment processing solutions to help manage their business needs.
Business Services Development
- Proactively identify and target potential business Members within the Credit Union’s membership and local business community.
- Present and explain the benefits of Credit Union cash management tools and merchant services to potential Members.
- Create customized pricing, contracts, and service agreements with merchants.
- Conduct in-depth needs assessments with potential Members to understand business needs.
- Provide consultative guidance on products and services, payment solutions, and business accounts.
- Utilize and maximize Salesforce to drive revenue and build relationships with Members and Team members.
- Customize merchant services offerings to meet the unique needs of each client.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with merchant clients.
- Serve as the main point of contact for Members, addressing questions, concerns, and service-related issues.
- Regularly connect with Members to ensure their satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services.
- Analyze industry trends, payment processing technologies, and Credit Union merchant services offerings.
- Provide training and education to Credit Union staff and merchant clients on new products and services.
- Track and report on sales performance, revenue, and market trends.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Resolve problems through analysis of data, identification of root cause(s), evaluation of options, rendering of decisions, and implementation of the action.
- Ensure compliance with pertinent government rules and regulations.
Non-Essential Functions
- Volunteer time in the community.
- Contribute to special projects, research, and analysis.
- Provide general training to RCU team members as needed.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key contacts in the community, including volunteer centers and non-profit organizations.
- Participate in community events, community volunteer boards & associations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong communication abilities and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain credibility and engender trust.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Skill in the operation of a personal computer with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software abilities.
- Ability to use Salesforce software to track and report on sales performance.
- Ability to analyze problems and opportunities, identify and evaluate alternatives, and develop sound, practical approaches.
- Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate the achievement of goals, objectives, and work plans.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a diverse environment.
- Ability to be out in the field 90% of the time.
- Licenses and Certifications
- Maintain a valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist, turn, and drive.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Work environment is indoors; majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.
- Education/Experience
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or closely related field, plus a minimum of five years of experience in business services, including business development.
Compensation: Base salary range of 94,700-117,000 annually.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
