In this role you would be part of the Product Strategy, Transformation, and Rewards Team and would be responsible for developing and delivering customer-centric strategies and innovative solutions that meet our customers’ current and emerging financial needs with the goal of driving significant increases to customer engagement and revenue. The team is charged with using customer insights and competitive intelligence to understand the highest priority current and emerging needs of our customers and then developing solutions that meet those needs across the bank’s Retail, Preferred, Small Business, and Wealth segments.
Job Description:
This job is responsible for supporting the end-to-end product life cycle by conducting market research and competitor analyses, determining product pricing, and identifying innovative opportunities to modernize product offerings and deliver a more unified customer experience. Key responsibilities include managing product profitability, monitoring and reporting financial performance, and preparation of governance documentation. Job expectations include ensuring that product management efforts are integrated with sales, marketing, operations, implementation, and customer service strategies.
This Product Innovation Consultant role reports to the Head of Product Innovation and will be responsible for helping to lead new customer-centric innovation initiatives through the phases of innovation, starting with insights and ideation, leading to solution design and delivery, and ending with a fully formed new product that has been tested in the real world and can be handed off for business-as-usual operation across our platform.
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Partner with lines of business to develop innovative products and features, marketing approaches and digital experience enhancements for target segments
- Leverage customer and competitive insights as an input to ideation and solution design workshops to organize and prioritize opportunities aligned to segments and audiences
- Facilitate collaboration and coordination to explore and prioritize opportunities
- Measure customer demand and better understand current and emerging client needs by creating and executing tests to deliver learnings and results in various environments
- Formalize ideas and service concepts into compelling, profitable, and differentiated value propositions by scoping, measuring benefits and value for customers, completing competitive benchmarking, developing a go-to-market strategy, etc.
- Help deliver customer-centric innovation initiatives end to end to develop solutions that enable Bank of America to differentiate itself and dominate in the marketplace
- Identify ways to improve our approach to innovation and create a robust, intuitive and connected innovation ecosystem
Responsibilities for Job Code:
- Assists with streamlining or enhancing product offerings to fit client's existing and future needs to support continued growth and operational excellence
- Manages risk through implementing and monitoring effective controls in partnership with key support partners
- Partners with internal stakeholders to obtain meaningful insights about markets, clients, and competitors in order to develop products that solve client needs and ensure high adoption rates
- Supports comprehensive plans for product development and deployment, including engaging in the creation of sales training programs and marketing materials to educate clients and internal teams on product capabilities

Required Skills:
- 3-5 years delivering results in financial services, fintech, direct to consumer marketing, or management consulting; experience leading ideation and innovation processes or working sessions a plus
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written), able to concisely summarize key observations, clearly articulate considerations, and propose solutions and next steps
- Strong ability to collaborate and engage across functions and business lines and build strong working relationships with business partners at all levels of management
- Exhibits a strong drive for results and success, demonstrates a sense of urgency to achieve outcomes, and routinely exceeds expectations
- Strong passion for technology, industry awareness, and ability to think big and imagine products and features that can help consumers in their everyday digital financial lives
- Understanding of digital / product touch points in consumer finance with a broad knowledge of digital best practices and strategies in the industry

Pay Transparency details:
Pay range: $72,000.00 - $117,200.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set. Discretionary incentive eligible. This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
