We are looking for a Power Systems Consultant to join Grid Software's Power Technologies International (PTI) team. This role is critical to the planning and integration of renewables, storage, and FACTS to the electrical grid.
This is a remote position based in the Contiguous U.S.You'll make an impact as you:- Perform transmission planning through the application of power systems planning principles to simulate and analyze the power system steady state and dynamic behavior
- Prepare detailed written reports describing analyses performed, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Work in small project teams, ensuring deliverables are of high quality and projects are completed within budget and schedule.
- Develop automation scripts to improve the speed and accuracy of simulations and analysis.
- Assist with on-site technical consulting/training services
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems
- 1+ years of relevant experience in the electric power industry. Advanced degree and internships MAY be substituted for experience.
- Knowledge of transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow, dynamic stability, and electromagnetic transients.
- Practical familiarity with using advanced power system analysis tools (i.e. PSSE, PSSSINCAL, TARA, ASPEN, PowerWorld or PSLF)
Preferred qualifications:- Familiarity with one or more programming languages, such as Python.
- Experience in Power System Consulting.
- Transmission system planning or operations experience in MISO, SPP, NYISO, ISO-NE, PJM.
- Industry experience performing distribution planning and/or production costing.

- The salary range for this position is $66,500 - $114,000. An annual incentive target also is part of the compensation package for this position. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
