The role you’ll contribute:
The Cardiovascular Invasive Laboratory Specialist IV (CILS IV) - RN performs a wide range of technical skills, which are utilized during a variety of complex Cardiac interventional, Complex diagnostic/interventional Electrophysiology, or Interventional Radiology procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients. The CILS IV is proficient in all aspects of angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation and monitoring consistent with the policies, procedures and processes of the Cardiovascular Services department and Hospital Administration. Adheres to the guidelines and standards of professional practice associations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

- Nursing Process: Completes timely assessments per Practice Guidelines including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and life-style factors, including signs of abuse or neglect. Makes appropriate decisions and interventions and nursing diagnosis according to patients actual or potential health conditions or needs.
- Nursing Process: Based on the assessment and diagnosis, sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for the patient, assisting in the development and implementation of an individualized plan of care.
- Nursing Knowledge: Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including, but not limited to lab results, non-invasive monitoring data and interdisciplinary team notes.
- Professional Development: Abides by American Nurses Association Scope, Standards and Code of Ethics. Participates in practice changes, process improvement initiatives and completes all required education by the due date.
- Follows CDC isolation guidelines, appropriately uses PPE, and performs hand hygiene according to accepted standards of care.
- Verifies orders and facilitates implementation, communicating with physician as needed. Performs treatments and administers medications according to policy and training.
- Produces an accurately written, promptly completed medical record for each patient based upon the scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions.
- Performs effectively in all three procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in a therapeutic cardiac laboratory team.
- Learns and upgrades skills. Utilizes knowledge base to assist with orientation, training, and education of new personnel.
- Proficiently performs diagnostic and complex coronary interventional procedures, diagnostic and complex electrophysiology procedures, and/or structural heart procedures.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- Graduate of a school of nursing
- Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Knowledge of advanced levels of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation
- Knowledge of Cardiovascular anatomy
- Knowledge of Vascular anatomy
- Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and physiology
- Ability to monitor patient blood pressure, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry using sophisticated clinical equipment
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Knowledge of complex electrophysiology procedures
- Knowledge of pediatric invasive procedures
- Knowledge of complex cardiac intervention procedures
- Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures
- Knowledge of peripheral diagnostic procedures
- Knowledge of peripheral interventional procedures
- Knowledge of structural heart procedures
