Position Summary

MultiCare is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Physician to join their Adolescent Behavioral Unit at the Tacoma General Hospital for weekend inpatient coverage, in person. Work with a collegial team of physicians, advanced practice providers, licensed clinical social workers, and therapists.

Expectations for Weekend Coverage

Cover a maximum of 12 patients, including 1-2 discharges, 1-2 new admits, and regular progress check-ins.
All admissions can be voluntary, family-initiated, or detained children.
Legal status is managed by intake coordinators, and paperwork is reviewed by the intake nurse.
Discharges are primarily prepared by weekday clinicians; weekend clinicians will conduct mental status check-ins and suicide risk assessments.
New admits will have a pediatrician available to complete physical examinations on the day of admission.

Compensation: $1,250 per day for weekend call coverage
