The Registered Nurse, RN, Telemetry assumes the accountability and responsibility as a professional nurse for providing total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients. The Registered Nurse, RN, Telemetry is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Job Responsibilities:
- The Registered Nurse, RN, Telemetry ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department, or unit patient safety initiatives. Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety.
- Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority.
- Implements policies, procedures, and standards consistently in the performance of assigned duties.
- Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures, devices, and communicates the same to those in charge.
- Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork among coworkers by maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships.
- Fosters a healing environment for patients and families.
- Assumes responsibility and authority for establishing a therapeutic relationship with the patient/family and creating an individualized plan of care, evaluates patient's response, and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Integrates clinical reasoning and knowledge as the foundation for decision-making.
- Balances patient's rights and organization's responsibilities in providing professional and ethical care.
The Telemetry Unit is a fast-paced, high acuity 42-all private bed unit, certified by the Joint Commission in Stroke and Heart Failure, and nationally recognized by the American Heart Association for maintaining high quality metrics in the management of Stroke, Heart Failure, and Atrial Fibrillation.
Schedule: 4 out of 4 weekend program, 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Nursing Diploma minimum requirement.
Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse in PA – Licensed, upon hire, required. Basic Life Support (BLS), upon hire, required.
