DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Located just off of I-5 in north Seattle, UW Medicine Primary Care at Outpatient Medical Center is open six days a week. Our board-certified physicians provide a full spectrum of primary care, including annual wellness and preventive healthcare services, management of chronic conditions, treatment of acute conditions, mental health services and routine gynecologic exams. We believe that continuity of care is vital to keeping you healthy in the long term.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures timely response by following established network standard work and clinic protocols for telephone encounters, Epic in-basket folders, incoming/outgoing phone calls and responding to patient messages in MyChart.
- Manages incoming multi-line phone calls, MyChart messages, paperwork and fax transmissions from patients, pharmacies, and other providers.
- Acts as a liaison between provider and other facilities including UW Medicine entities and departments, pharmacies, home health agencies, specialists, etc.
- Reviews open telephone and MyChart encounter report and performs audits. Communicates audit results and trends or patterns pertaining to access to care to clinic leadership.
- Gathers information from patient symptom-based calls and routes to nurse triage as appropriate per guidelines.
- Provide administrative support to the referral process, such as faxing referrals and scanning referral related paperwork as needed.
- Assist with forms completions for providers as needed for patients, insurance companies and employers.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduation or equivalent AND
- One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience
- OR an equivalent combination of education/experience.
