Job Summary: The Director D&A is responsible for leading and managing the Product Life Cycle (contract management) for the D&A Business Line manufacturing programs and projects in the Boulder site. The Director D&A is accountable for order intake and revenue for the Advanced Optronics business line at the Boulder facility. The Director D&A collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives, manage resources, and align program objectives with organizational goals. A successful Director D&A will drive the Boulder business to meet the forecast and annual plan. They will work closely with Sales, R&D, and Operations to strategically grow Boulder business while driving product development to meet profitability targets and maintain competitive market advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Leads team of D&A Key Account Managers to sustain and strategically grow Boulder D&A Business. Responsible for meeting or exceeding both the margin & sales growth goals set in the forecast and annual plans. Lead customer engagement to ensure customer satisfaction. Lead and manage the full lifecycle of manufacturing programs and projects, from initiation through to completion. Collaborating with the business development team in the review and development of proposals. Supporting the business strategy development to drive profitable growth.
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Work closely with senior management to define strategic program priorities and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Works with Sales, Marketing, Business Segment Directors to collect and structure market intelligence to define target customers, anticipate market development for product roadmaps, create competitive landscapes for setting the right price targets. Monitors & reports booking, shipments, costs & profits. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Team Management and Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers and Key Account Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective program execution. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment, promoting teamwork and communication across functional areas. Coordinate with engineering, production, supply chain, and other departments to ensure seamless integration and execution of program initiatives.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage budgets, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of resources. Monitor financial performance and track expenditures, providing regular updates and forecasts to senior management. Identify and address resource gaps and constraints to ensure success.
- Stakeholder Communication: Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and alignment with program objectives. Serve as the primary point of contact for communications with internal and external stakeholders. Provide regular status updates, reports, and presentations to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure team complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Implement, monitor and improve customer scorecards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Skills: Proven track record of successfully managing complex programs and projects in a manufacturing setting. Experience with optics, photonic systems or lasers is advantageous, but not required. Experience working within the Defense and Aerospace industry is desirable. Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in program management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.). Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with senior executives and external stakeholders.
Physical Requirements: Ability to travel occasionally to different manufacturing sites or facilities as required.

Pay Range: $170,000-$185,000 per year, depending on experience. This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Visa sponsorship is not available for any position at Excelitas. Must be a US Citizen/Person.
