Friend Health, a community health center, is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. Friend Health offers a competitive rate along with a great benefits package. The Dental Assistant will perform a mix of administrative and clinical tasks.
Job Duties:
- Escorts patients from waiting room to dental treatment room.
- Prepares treatment rooms for dental procedures. Arranges dental instruments, materials and medications on chair side tray in the order to be used, according to the scheduled treatment.
- Sterilizes dental instruments and equipment for each patient; stores instruments in proper location after use.
- Restocks rooms.
- Hands instruments and other materials to dentist during procedures (extractions, implant placements, crowns and root canals).
- Makes patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
- Prepares restorative materials and dental cements.
- Maintains office supplies and forms necessary to carry out front desk activities.
- Collects balances and copayments due at time of check-in.
- Reconciles daily balances at the end of the day and submits deposits with batch report to Site Manager.
- Enters and verifies all patient demographic and insurance information correctly at every point of patient contact.
- Schedules appointments for patients in accordance with established procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Certified Dental Assistant
- Current CPR (BLS) Certification.
- 3+ years of experience in clinical setting preferred.
- Self-motivated, team player excited to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a dedication to accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional & discrete manner.
- Centricity and VisDental experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.
- Bilingual, clinically fluent in Spanish preferred.
