POSITION TITLE: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
FLSA: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A full contract for this position is 190 days, with benefits as specified in employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on actual start date.
LOCATION: District Wide

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work with students in a school setting to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders.
- Assist students to develop better communication skills, overcome language barriers, and improve their ability to express themselves.
- Assess students' speech, language, and communication skills to identify areas of concern or disorder.
- Develop individualized treatment plans to help students improve their communication skills, based on the results of the assessment.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to deliver therapy and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals. Work closely with teachers, other school staff, and parents to ensure that the student's needs are met and progress is monitored.
- Keep detailed records of assessments, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant information.
- Attend school meetings such as IEP (Individualized Education Plan) meetings to contribute to the development of plans and goals for students.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in the field through continuing education courses and professional development opportunities.

- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, occasional reaching above the head or the shoulders, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
