Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 98-bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents ages 7–17, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, Oak Plains Academy campus features a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories. Our wooded campus provides an excellent opportunity for outdoor recreational activities. Residents receive an individualized treatment plan, geared to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serve hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency in the residents we serve.
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for organizing and administering the facility’s nursing services including establishing goals, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring adequate numbers and qualifications of staff are available to perform nursing services. The Director of Nursing is responsible for the Infection Control (IC) program for the facility, including developing policies, establishing types of surveillance and criteria, collecting data, and implementing educational and/or corrective measures as needed; must be familiar with legal and ethical aspects of health care services; must have and maintain the ability to direct and instruct employees in duties, techniques, and principles, and must be able to maintain a good working relationship with other departments.
This position is also eligible for an annual bonus based on department and facility performance.

Qualifications:
BSN preferred; must have State of Tennessee Registered Nurse License. At least 3 years, demonstrated experience in progressively responsible management, and leadership role in either in a hospital, residential treatment center or acute care hospital required.
