About the Role
The Manager, Clinical Documentation will play a critical role in advancing key clinical documentation integrity efforts at Hopscotch Primary Care. This leader will be a subject matter expert in clinical documentation and risk adjustment coding. This person will work closely with the providers across Hopscotch Primary Care and lead the organization's clinical documentation vision and strategy.
This role will require an in-person presence in North Carolina, traveling to and around our clinic locations regularly (>50%). This person must reside in either North Carolina or Chicago and be willing to travel to all Hopscotch Primary Care locations.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) cohort and be responsible for KPIs related to the CDS program.
- Make a significant business impact by influencing key outcomes in diagnosis excellence.
- Play a critical role in leveraging data analytics and strategic thinking to identify key insights and trends to drive high-impact initiatives across the CDS program.
- Onboard new CDS hires and develop specific training while ensuring programmatic expectations are met.
- Manage and coordinate the completion of targeted chart reviews with CDSs and Medical Directors.
- Lead the vision and strategy of the clinical documentation program at HPC.
- Own productivity and quality of output of CDS chart reviews.
- Collaborate with the population health team on new business cases to drive efficiencies for the CDS program.
- Update and maintain CDS training materials to continually improve performance of the CDS cohort and medical providers.
- Onboard and train new providers that join our team.
- Continue self-education on the CMS-HCC model and risk adjustment program.
- Other duties as assigned.
About You
- 3+ years of people management experience leading a mid-sized team (6-12).
- Demonstrates advanced clinical documentation expertise in the healthcare provider setting with at least 3 years of experience in a related role.
- Understanding of value-based care clinical workflows, care model, and clinical documentation best practices required.
- Deep expertise in CMS-HCC model and risk adjustment.
- Strong accountability and discipline against timelines and deliverables.
- Analytical and data savvy; highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Highly collaborative and able to work cross-functionally.
- Experience in project management, able to organize and prioritize Clinical Documentation initiatives to maximize impact and efficiency.
- Effective communicator, able to communicate effectively across different audiences and stakeholders.
- Passion for excellence, willing to go the extra mile to achieve objectives and ensure consistently high-quality work product.
- Possess strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Experience working with physicians and advanced practice providers.
