About the Role:
You are first a great engineer in either the electrical or software domain and have a great history of creative problem solving.
As a vehicle SME, you will evolve the telematics feature offerings of our vehicle gateway embedded platforms. You will review OEM documentation on telematics data offerings, work with a cross platform team to develop new features and provide critical insights to our customers through vehicle data. A successful candidate will have a working of vehicle networks, how to obtain vehicle telematics data parameters and understand how data can be interpreted.
Make our products work on as many vehicles as possible. Be able to figure out through live debugging (working with vehicles), scraping data, creating tools, reverse engineering how to pull data from our customer’s vehicles.
What You’ll Do:
- Whatever it takes
- Researching telematics data signals, proprietary OEM data and infield logs to provide understanding to vehicle network traffic
- Provide insights into new telematics data to develop new features.
- Interface with internal teams on best practices related to field data and data quality.
- Growing and maintaining OEM contacts. This includes going to conferences, customer sites and OEM onsites.
- Create tools and scripts to pull data you need
- Implement changes in our codebase.
What We’re Looking For:
- 4+ years of vehicle automotive experience analyzing vehicle network traffic
- BS or higher in electrical, software or automotive related engineering
- Hands on experience interfacing with vehicles
- Code in C/C++/python or equivalent
- Ability to use physical debug tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, scan tools
