Job Description
Intrigued by the money found in doing Psychological Evals?
It's no secret that a day doing psych evals pays much better than a day doing therapy with clients, yet oddly enough many psychologists don't tap into this type of work.
Want to develop or fine-tune your Psychological Evaluation skills?
Our clinical director, Dr. Monson, is eager to help psychologists develop their testing skills and gain a love and appreciation for this rare art. Already have solid evaluation skills? Fantastic! Dr. Monson will simply be a resource to train on the specifics of the evals as listed in the referral contracts and as a colleague for case study.
Looking for something more part-time or full-time?
We have several referral sources and can't keep up with the demands. Regardless of whether you are looking for something part-time or full-time, we can help the right candidate(s) design a schedule that works well for them.
What Working with Us Looks Like:
Psychologists who work with us complete evaluations in-person for people throughout the state of Utah. We have contracts with government agencies & clinics throughout Utah. Our psychologists simply tell us which days they are available to work each month and the distance they are willing to travel, and we'll schedule the psychologist with evaluations to complete.
Days Available:
The majority of our referrals require evals to be completed on a weekday, but we do have some testing that can be completed on Saturdays. Psychologists commit specific days each week or month to complete evaluations, depending on how much work they would like.
Workload:
For psychologists who are wanting to keep their current job and also work for us, several psychologists have found that they can change their schedule to work 4 days a week at their current job and then have 1 day off per week. Some of those days off they do testing for us, and some of them they just enjoy with their families. We even have some psychologists who give us 1 day every week, and the pay is good enough for them to only work 2-3 days a week at their other job; thus having even more time to themselves.
For psychologists who are wanting to work primarily for us, full-time providers typically give us 2 days per week to see clients face-to-face, and then they use the other days to write. This is contractual work - meaning some months you'll be extra busy (we will only schedule on days that you tell us you are available), and other months might be slower; however, we can guarantee a certain number of work days per month.
Pay: Our psychologists keep a set % of all evaluation revenue they generate. The % we keep is used to help secure the evaluation contracts, pay our billing and scheduling teams, and assist you with any questions you have. Evaluation revenue ranges from $900-$3000 per test. The $900 tests are standard enough for psychologists to administer 2-4 per day: meaning, it's not uncommon {nor guaranteed} for a psychologist to make $600-$2400 per day. Heads up: each test will also need time for interpreting and writing.
Travel:
We have contracts all over Utah (Logan, Brigham, Ogden, Salt Lake, Utah Valley, Price, Vernal, Cedar City, etc.). Some of our providers are willing to go wherever; others define the areas they are willing to travel to. It's all up to you. Pre-determined travel reimbursement is added to the testing pay. Travel reimbursement rates are determined by the eval referral source. If a provider chooses to travel into Utah from another state on a regular basis, we begin our reimbursement travel rate calculations from the SLC airport.
Your Duties:
- Administer and interpret psychological evaluations. Training is available
- Administer and interpret neuropsychological evaluations. Training is available
- Complete the written evaluation within 14 days of administering the evaluation.
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with our billing and scheduling team to ensure quality client care.
- Provide your own computer and mode of transportation to and from locations.
Experience:
- Clinical Psychologist License in the state of Utah.
- Accredited Degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Preferred: clinicians who have administered at least 12 full psychological evals.
