Maximizes all store sales and profitability by ensuring the execution of promotional and merchandising programs in accordance with Lowe's policies and procedures. Serves as a model for customer service and other vital behaviors, and instills this value in all teammates. Creates an environment for continual learning and encourages an open dialogue among teammates. Provides leadership and motivation to promote a culture reflective of Lowe's guiding principles, core values, and vision.
JOB DUTIES: - Responsible for directing the operation of the Pharmacy Department and managing all aspects of the medication use process.
- Ensure compliance with health system policies and procedures as required that promote appropriate, safe and cost-effective medication use.
- Review financial and operating results to determine where the pharmacy departments stand relative to budgeted sales, expenses, and payroll.
- Provide leadership and direction for the assigned area of Pharmacy teammates.
- Provide training to other Pharmacy Managers in the overall operation of the pharmacy department.
- Ensure compliance with health system policies and procedures that apply to pharmacy services.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
- Assess staffing needs; interview and hire pharmacy teammates and ensure pharmacy teammates can identify and hire qualified candidates to meet the staffing needs; coordinate with the Pharmacist.
- Terminate poor performing teammates when required.
- Participate in educational and professional programs and/or review professional literature on an ongoing basis to maintain knowledge and competency in current and developing techniques, professional standards, and the services offered by Lowe's.
- Perform pharmaceutical patient assessment (initial and reassessments).
- Create and execute plans to manage the pharmaceutical care of home care patients according to Lowe's policy.
- Assist in resolving patient equipment problems under emergency conditions.
- Assemble, troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
- Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with Lowe's policy.
- Develop technical knowledge of the products/services provided by Lowe's and be able to provide information of the same to others upon request.
- Develop plans to manage the patients' pharmaceutical care and execute the care plan.
- Provide pharmaceutical services related to the preparation and dispensing of drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies to patients at home.
- Maintain rapport with ordering physicians and inform them of changes in the patients' condition/status.
- Promote rational drug therapy to physicians.
- Communicate and coordinate with Vice President/CEO to provide feedback from the store.
- Inspect pharmacy departments to ensure they are following pharmacy procedures and guidelines.
- Keep work area maintained appropriately to ensure a safe work environment for teammates and customers.
- Be responsible for efficient and effective delegation of duties to achieve maximum performance of teammates including proper follow-up to assure satisfactory performance.
- Work with pharmacy department teammates to identify the root causes of issues and inefficiencies.
- Conduct inventories and monitor for accuracy.
- Adhere to all compliance of company policies, programs, procedures and guidelines.
- Constantly interact with teammates to ensure that all teammates understand Lowe's expectations.
Training and Experience: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Master of Science in Pharmacy D. Preferred. Two years experience as a Pharmacy Director and one year management experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of various types of pharmacy products. Ability to read and write English. Good customer relations skills. Ability to calculate gross margins and retail prices. Ability to manage effectively.
Licenses, Registration and Certification: Listed by the State Board of Pharmacy in the same state of employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a well-lit, well-ventilated area. Subject to communicable disease.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Pharmacist Competency.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light work- exerting 25-50 pounds of force occasionally, and 10-20 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 15 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to operate office machinery and Pharmacy equipment. Must possess good audio, visual and hearing acuity. Requires walking and/or standing up to a significant degree. Must be able to climb, stand, bend, push or pull, twist, grasp, squeeze, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, handle, finger and feel. Subject to psychological stress.
