The Carrier Clinic Part Time Psychologist functions as a clinical psychologist under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, in accordance with the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct of the American Psychological Association, guidelines from the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners, and standards set forth by the Joint Commission. In general, the Psychologist independently diagnoses and treats mental disorders and aspects of psychological adjustment. Specific to the behavioral health population served, the Psychologist performs those functions in the areas of functional assessment; intelligence quotient; cognitive status toward the goal of differential diagnostics; coordinated treatment and effective discharge planning. The specific scope of practice will be articulated in the delineation of privileges as issued in the process of appointment to the Medical Staff.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Earned Doctorate in Psychology, internship in clinical child, school psychology, adult clinical and/or pediatric psychology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Post-doctoral training and/or experience in child maltreatment or forensic psychology.
- Competence with performing psychological testing as indicated above.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Psychologist License or Practicing Psychologist License.
