As a Staff Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
- Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families
- Make referrals to resources as needed
- Support fellow healthcare professionals

What You Bring
Education:
- You must be a registered nurse in Canada in good standing and be eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- If the applicant does not possess the required qualifications, PHC will fund Post-Basic Education. Funding will consist of 100% for tuition and books; and wages at rate of 100% of posted FTE. The length of the Post-Basic Education is approximate. Eligibility for Post-Basic Education is restricted to applicant(s) with a minimum of 1-2 year medical/surgical experience (2 years preferred) and who have not received Post-Basic Education Funding from PHC for the past 2 years. Applicant must successfully complete the Post-Basic Education prior to working in the Department.

Your Day to Day:
- Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing patient/resident needs
- Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care
- Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient/resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems
- Identify and address patient/resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary
- Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care
- Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient/resident care policies and procedures
- Advocate for patients/residents' rights and dignity, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with families and community resources
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team
