Summary
The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients by physician referral. He/she plans treatment programs and performs therapy procedures to restore function, prevent disability, and maximize the potential and quality of life following disease, injury, or surgery. He/she appropriately modifies treatment plans and procedures specific to early adult, middle adult, and late adult patients, and uses communication techniques for specific age groups. He/she applies knowledge of the aging process to obtain optimal results. He/she participates in community presentations, staff in-services, and other departmental activities as requested by the Manager of Rehabilitation Services. He/she participates in the clinical supervision of students, Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellows, and rehab operations assistants.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
Experience
License/Registration/Certifications
- Certification by the American Speech Language—Hearing Association and/or Clinical Fellowship Year Valid South Carolina Speech Language Pathology License
