QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma from an ASHA accredited college or university in the field of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of an M.S. Degree.
Successful completion of a supervised clinical practicum, experiences from an educational institution, or its cooperating programs, that is approved by the Board of Examiners.
Successful completion of a nine-month postgraduate professional experience.
Passage of a national exam or equivalent exam approved by the Board of Examiners.
JOB DUTIES:
- Evaluates, plans, develops, revises, and carries through patient programs in accordance with physician objectives and patient needs in all settings. Upholds patient safety in all interactions.
- Ensures that the content of patient documentation meets all professional requirements and legal/regulatory specifications.
- Maintains timeliness of patient-related documentation adhering to departmental standards and legal/regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, LCD, 3rd Party Payor, etc.).
- Supervises Speech-Language Pathologist assistants and supportive personnel for accurate and timely completion of delegated job tasks. Adheres to legal/regulatory guidelines for professional supervision. Trains/orients new departmental staff.
- Participates in clinical supervision of assigned students.
- Maintains and upgrades professional skills according to departmental needs and objectives.
