What does your role bring to the table?
The Manager of Total Rewards is a champion of the Snooze culture. The role reports to the Director of People and Compliance and is an integral part of the People Team (aptly named because we aren’t your typical HR department). This role will greatly influence all aspects of the future growth of Snooze through the administration, coordination, and evaluation of current People Team compensation and benefits practices. The role is responsible for administering our benefit plan, managing our 401(K), supporting the full Snoozer Circle of Life (onboarding, promotions, pay changes, offboarding, etc.), benefits compliance, the Snoozer leave process, health and wellness programs, and supporting the day to day needs of the team and the business.
The Position specifics!
Taking on the role of Manager of Total Rewards isn’t just about bacon and pancakes. The responsibilities of this position include:
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws at all levels of the organization and implement changes or updates when needed and must be able to lead and stay ahead of the ever-changing legal landscape. This includes FLSA, FMLA, FAMLI, I-9 and other related processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with all current and potential vendors.
- Administers our benefits, 401(k), and Snoozer Perks programs, including the execution and approval of enrollment in all health and voluntary benefits, COBRA, ACA compliance, and 401(k) enrollment and plan management, and plan upkeep.
- Responsible for educating and communicating the leave process, including FMLA, non-qualified medical leave and personal leave.
- Educate and counsel Snoozers on medical, dental, vision, voluntary benefits options through one-on-one conversations, webinars, in person and other communication tools.
- Partners with the VP of People and Culture and CPCO to ensure that all compensation plans are fair, competitive, and in compliance with all state and federal law.
- Manages Snooze’s compensation programs by evaluating and analyzing Snoozer salaries and hourly rates.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating all compensation charts, guides, and reference tools to ensure our leaders have the right information to make informed decisions when hiring new Snoozers.
- Conducts bi-annual compensation review, analyzing the data and making recommendations based on the findings of the report. Uses this data to inform decisions on our multi-year compensation strategy.
- Partners with finance during the budget process to ensure we are appropriately budgeting for minimum wage changes, annual pay increases, and other compensation related changes each year.
- Makes recommendations to the Leadership Team based on internal and external analysis of compensation metrics.
- Performs analysis and administration of compensation of compensation programs, conducts job classification and role reviews, participates in compensation surveys, and conducts other market and relevant data analysis.
- Supports in managing the Snoozer Support inbox and responding to requests and issues in a timely manner.
- Supports the administrative tasks associated with the entire Life Cycle of a Snoozer, including but not limited to: recruitment, retention, on-boarding, and off-boarding, and HRIS input and updates.
- Supports the execution of all compliance related initiatives.
- Supports in the execution of People Team data related to benefits, leaves, and compensation.
- Collaborate with Vice President of People and Culture and Director of People and Compliance on all Snoozer retention, engagement, and inspiration strategies for all levels of the organization.
- Maintain connection with the restaurants and the Snoozer Experience via on-the-job days once per quarter.
- Collaborate with Director of People and Compliance to meet all department goals.
- Other responsibilities may be established based on company goals and priorities.

- Experience supporting HR compliance programs and processes.
- Experience administering medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and other voluntary benefit programs.
- General knowledge and use of HRIS systems and processes.
- Ability to create and analyze HR data which supports the growth and development of the business and our Snoozers.
- Desire and ability to think big, always seeking new and better ideas for finding great Snoozers and enhancing the Snoozer experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work through complex business issues and identify, develop, and implement solutions.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong MS Excel knowledge required to perform complex calculations, merge data from multiple tables/sources, and scrub data.
Let’s talk prerequisites! (Education, credentials, and experience)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
- 4+ years of Human Resources experience managing compliance programs and processes.
- 4+ years in a role where you were actively administering benefits and 401(k) programs.
- 4+ years in a role analyzing compensation data and making recommendations to senior leaders.
- Experience extracting, analyzing, sharing, and presenting HR data.
- 2+ years of experience in hospitality or restaurant human resource’s role preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Human Resources Management Certification (HRCI or SHRM) preferred.
- Multi-state compliance experience with California experience preferred.

- Must have the stamina to work 45-55 hours per week.
- Ability to work weekends and evenings, as needed.
- Limited travel, but must have the ability to travel up to 5 days at one time (air, bus, train, and weekend travel required)

The Nitty Gritty Details
Denver area base salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Snooze salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Snooze’s total compensation package for employees.
