School Psychologist
Chester Academy is seeking a full-time school psychologist to join their team. Chester Academy is a pre-K through 8th grade public school of approximately 500 students, located 20 miles east of Manchester. The school serves students from the small, rural town of Chester. Chester Academy students attend Pinkerton Academy High School in Derry, New Hampshire.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in related field
- NH Certification as School Psychologist
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The School Psychologist is a vital part of the successful school community, providing services to all students. The psychologist performs evaluative services, writes reports, and attends meetings as part of the Special Education Process. The psychologist serves as a member of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) team and may provide mental health services to students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete appropriate assessments, interviews, observations, record review, and parent input to determine educational handicapping conditions and/or developing intervention plans for students
- Present findings and intervention plans to parents and school staff at team meetings
- Serve on a multi-disciplinary team that collaborates to refer and identify students with suspected educational disabilities
- Provide consultation to School Counselors to support their daily work, especially when risk assessments need to be completed.
- Contribute a knowledge of family/social systems when participating in decision-making related to students needs in areas such as early or delayed school entrance, detention issues, changes in placement, legal suspension, or dismissal
- Support the mental health and well being of all students by contributing ideas and resources for Tier One responses.
- Support the mental health of students by providing small group and/or individual sessions to build skills and strategies.
- Abides by the school rules and regulations as defined by school board policy, and state and federal laws related to education and the rights of individuals
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Director of Special Services or Principal

Salary and Benefits:Salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include health, dental, NH Retirement System, and long term disability.
