External Examiner for: Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy
Description: We are seeking to appoint an external examiner for Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy, which commences in September 2025. On completion, students are eligible for registration with the General Dental Council.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the assessment process.
- Moderate and report on student work.
- Visit practice placements.
- Attend Course Assessment Boards.
- Submit an annual report.
- Sign off the Course Leader’s response to the report.
Qualifications: Appointees will have relevant field-related experience, academic qualifications to postgraduate level, including a recordable teaching qualification, and will be registered with the General Dental Council. Although previous experience as an external examiner is desirable, the School will make arrangements for new external examiners to have a mentor, where needed. An induction programme is provided for external examiners.
The post is due to commence in September 2025. All appointments are for a period of four years.
