Description

Shift: Occasional part-time, Monday - Friday 6:30 am- 3:00 pm, weekend and night call.

The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of the RN to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical and endoscopic procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Organizes surgical technical activity in a logical sequence to promote efficiency in a cost-effective manner.
- Maintains the sterile field at all times during the handling of supplies and equipment necessary for the operative procedure.
- Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and has an understanding of the procedure being performed.
- Demonstrates safety measures at all times by adhering to established standards of practice for aseptic practice, worker and patient safety, as well as equipment and product safety.
- Assists with disinfection and sterilization processes.
- Assists with case and room turnover to maximize department efficiency and minimize waste/delay.
- Participates actively in sound supply chain management to assure inventory control and resource utilization.
Requirements of this position include:
- High School Diploma or GED; preferred Associates Degree.
- Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program; preferred 1-2 years experience as Surg Tech.
- BLS; Certified Surgical Technologist certification within two years of hire.

GED or better in GED.
High School or better in High School Diploma.
