Job Summary:
Location: Nebraska Methodist Hospital
Address: 8303 Dodge Street, Omaha NE
Work Schedule: Three 12 hour shifts per week - Rotating
Under the supervision of a physician, provide medical care to patients and perform minor surgical procedures according to the approved privilege list.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions
- Promotes positive relations when interacting with patients, visitors, families, physicians, customers, and co-workers.
- Greet, smile and make eye contact. Introduce self by name.
- Volunteers to help co-workers and other employees.
- Addresses patients and others by surname.
- Responds quickly to patients and/or other peoples' needs.
- Knows and demonstrates 6 step customer complaint management process.
- Perform physical examinations, suture simple lacerations, treat abrasions and burns, order and/or perform diagnostic tests, and document findings as appropriate.
- Develops and communicates treatment plan to patients.
- Consults with supervising physician as necessary.
- As assigned, performs face to face evaluation within 1 hour of notification for behavior health restraint need and approves reorders telephonically.
Job Requirements
Education
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Experience
- 2+ years Advanced Practice Provider (APP) experience required.
License/Certifications
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
- Maintain current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.
- Maintain current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification preferred.
- Current, valid, and maintained Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state working without restrictions required.

- Skilled in promoting positive relations when interacting with patients or other customers.

- Constantly Performed (67%-100%): Fingering/Touching, Grasping, Hearing, Reaching, Seeing/Visual, Speaking/talking.
Job Hazards
- Not Related: Explosives, Electrical Shock/Static, Radiation Alpha, Beta and Gamma, Radiation Non-Ionizing.
- Rare (1-33%): Chemical agents, Mechanical moving parts/vibrations.
