Requirements
Education: Medical School and completion of a residency and/or fellowship program in pediatrics, adolescent medicine, and/or developmental pediatrics.
Required Licensure/Certification:
Florida medical license.
ABP Board Certification or board-eligible.
Other Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of clinical and theoretical nursing/clinical processes and principles. Familiar with state and federal laws related to health care.
- Basic computer operations and EMR (Athena experience).
- Knowledge of medical practice protocols related to scheduling appointments.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including friendliness, empathy, patience, kindness, politeness and helpfulness.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Skill in communicating and working with all staff and leadership collaboratively.
- Skill in documentation of patient care including reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong sense of focus and attention to clinical accuracy.
- Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients and families in all circumstances including when they are ill or have an emergency.
- Ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately.
- Strong attention to detail.
Work Environment: Combination of medical and administrative office settings. Possible exposure to communicable diseases (including COVID-19), biohazards, and other conditions common in clinical settings.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Variety of walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, and reaching. Occasional need to lift/carry/move up to 25 pounds of equipment. Management of high-paced patient flow and related stressors.
