Requirements:
- Education, Training, or Certifications Required:
- Current Maine RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE certifications
- National certification encouraged.
- Experience Required:
- Proficiency in nursing process
- Proficiency in medication administration
- One year of acute care experience
- Perinatal nursing experience preferred.
- Proficiency in fetal monitoring
- Special Requirements:
- Proficient IV skills
- Familiarity with computer applications
- Emotional maturity
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Active participation in perinatal education conferences
- Proficient patient assessment skills
- Cognitive Requirements:
- Ability to collect, sort, and prioritize data.
- Skill in processing complex clinical information and responding appropriately.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and incorporate them into nursing practice.
- Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand/walk during 8–12-hour shifts.
- Adequate hearing, vision, speech, and manual dexterity
- Ability to lift/carry 25-50 lbs.
- Capacity to perform under stress.
- General health conducive to regular scheduled work hours
- Environment:
- Potential exposure to blood and body fluids
- Risk of infectious diseases
- Occasional periods of high stress
- Utilization of telephone, computers, telemedicine equipment, and VDT (Visual Display Terminal)
