We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Systems Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare technology and systems analysis. This role involves analyzing, designing, and implementing healthcare information systems to improve patient care and operational efficiency. The Healthcare Systems Analyst will work closely with medical staff, IT professionals, and management to ensure that healthcare systems meet the needs of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Systems Analysis and Design: Analyze existing healthcare systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.
Design and develop new systems or enhancements to existing systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define system requirements. - Implementation and Integration: Implement new healthcare information systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
Coordinate with IT teams to install, configure, and test new systems.
Provide support during the transition to new systems, including data migration and user training. - Project Management: Manage healthcare IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.
Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones.
Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet objectives. - User Training and Support: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for system users.
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for healthcare information systems.
Act as a liaison between end-users and technical teams to resolve system issues. - Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze healthcare data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Generate reports and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy within healthcare information systems. - Compliance and Security: Ensure that healthcare information systems comply with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA).
Implement security measures to protect patient information and ensure data confidentiality.
Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and technology trends. - Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance system performance and user satisfaction.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to streamline workflows.
Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions and make adjustments as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Systems Analyst, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of healthcare information systems and technology.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in systems analysis and design methodologies.
- Experience with project management and implementation of IT systems.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS).
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare data analytics.
- Knowledge of healthcare process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Experience in training and supporting end-users of healthcare systems.
