Overview
Radiologic Technologist with experience working with Vascular Surgery, Cardiac Cath Lab or as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist needed. The Technologist assists in the performance of endovascular surgical procedures by utilizing equipment and employing techniques and procedures that are age appropriate and in accordance with the accepted standards of practice. Demonstrates expertise in limiting radiation exposure to patients and other members of the health care team.
Position Highlights:
- Schedule:Work on an as needed basis (PRN) to cover for full time teammates on vacation or other reasons. (At least 1 shift per month or 96 hours per year to remain as PRN.)
- On Call Rotation: One scheduled weekend per fixed rotation with a minimum of one additional day, per pay period. In addition, one of the following holidays: MLK, Memorial, Independence and Labor Day.
- Location:Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center or High Point Medical Center, as needed.
What Is Required:
- Associate's degree (or two-year professional program) from an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
- Current BLS certification.
- Willing to do on-the-job-training, if preferred qualifications (listed below) are not met.
What is Preferred:
- Advanced registry/credentialing as a Technologist in either Cardiovascular, Vascular Interventional, Cardiac Interventional or Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist.
- Completion of Special Procedures Training Program
- Minimum one year experience as a Technologist in Special Procedures or Cardiac Cath Lab
On-the-Job-Training (OJT):
- OJT length will be based on level of experience, ability to grasp concepts, plus knowledge base.
- Time commitment for candidate, once OJT has been completed, will be a minimum of 12 months.
What You Will Do:
- Ensures readiness of emergency equipment and supplies. Recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential emergency situations.
- Provides Technologist coverage for 24-hour emergency endovascular surgical services.
- Performs or assists in performing procedures and/or diagnostic tests and/or therapeutic exams, as well as maintains files and compiles records according to procedure as required for accurate and current departmental records and/or reports.
- Provides instruction, education and consultation to health care personnel and patients to promote and improve quality patient care and maintains appropriate education/credentials to accomplish work objectives.
- Performs routine analysis on imaging equipment to assure proper working conditions and a minimum of downtime.
