Providence is offering up to $4,000 hiring bonus for eligible external candidates who are offered a position as a Laboratory Assistant or Associate Laboratory Assistant at a minimum of 0.50 FTE and meet all conditions for payment.
This is a combined posting for Laboratory Assistant and Associate Laboratory Assistant. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. Laboratory Assistant:
The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for completing and maintaining competency in specimen processing and packing, phlebotomy, and client services. Assists in the pre-analytical phase of select testing. Upholds laboratory compliance and accreditation through adherence to established departmental policies and procedures, safety standards, and infection control standards. Mentors and trains students and employees. Performs other duties as assigned.
Available Shifts:
- 0.9 FTE, 36 hours per week, Nights
- 0.1 FTE, On Call, Variable Shift
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal Phlebotomy Training program
- Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire
- Two (2) years of previous phlebotomy experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASCP Certified Phlebotomist upon hire

Associate Laboratory Assistant
The Associate Laboratory Assistant is responsible for completing and maintaining competency in specimen processing and packing, phlebotomy, and client services. Assists in the pre-analytical phase of select testing. Upholds laboratory compliance and accreditation through adherence to established departmental policies and procedures, safety standards, and infection control standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
Available Shift:
- 0.1 FTE, On Call, Variable Shift
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal Phlebotomy Training Program
- Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous phlebotomy experience
Salary Range:
