Your Role on the TeamPosition Summary:
Performs diagnostic ultrasound scanning procedures on adult and pediatric patient populations at a technical level requiring no supervision. The technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed protocols for diagnostic purposes. Positions and transfers patients. Operates imaging equipment, prepares imaging rooms, equipment, supplies, medication, and invasive procedure supplies. Transports patients, assists patients, and equipment during procedures and reports any unusual occurrences to the radiologist. Practices sterile technique and universal protocol. Rotating, variable shifts. Hours will include holiday rotation and scheduled on-call shifts. Maintains equipment and logs all reports of repairs. The technologist is expected to always display professional conduct in their interactions with other staff members, patients, and visitors.

Required Qualifications:
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Completion of an AMA approved school of sonography. ARDMS in Abdomen and OB/GYN required.
- Current American Heart Association CPR BLS Certification.
- Proficient in abdominal, OB & GYN and small parts scanning and procedures. Minimum of 2 years experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
