Position Summary
The Onsite Wellness Specialist is responsible for driving consistent wellness program development, guidelines and delivery to plan sponsors with diverse employee populations. This position is client-based working closely with the plan sponsor’s Human Resources team located in Ft. Myers.
From the Plan Sponsor: The Human Resources department supports Lee County's greatest assets, our 4,500 employees by serving as a business partner to Lee County's Board of County Commissioners, Administration, Departments and Community. Lee County provides a robust Employee Wellness Program focused on meeting employees where they are on their path to wellness. Whether the focus is improving physical, mental or financial health, our wellness programming provides a variety of information, resources and opportunities to reach your wellness goals.
Responsibilities include:
- Joining the plan sponsor's wellness team in designing, facilitating and evaluating effectiveness of wellness programs that educate and influence employees at the worksite to lead healthy lifestyles.
- Establish rapport with plan sponsors, engage leaders in data driven decision making regarding support for their employees.
- Detailed, organized and self-motivated to complete tasks within service level agreement timelines and alert management as needed.
- Support wellness champion network including different levels of employer leadership and employees from worksite.
- Identify and coordinate the appropriate combination of wellness activities for recommendations on delivery and coordination of wellness programs, community and vendor programs, and monitors effectiveness of the program.
- Effectively manage wellness allowance expenses towards eligible wellness expenses and ensure maximum benefit to the client while remaining within budget. Make sure invoice payments are processed in a timely manner.
- Evaluate and present health assessment data, organizational assessment, claim utilization data, employee survey data, biometric screenings or other data as appropriate.
- Utilize preventive guidelines and general health and wellness strategies to achieve goals in the overall health of customers.
- Perform research on relevant topics in health promotion and disease prevention, as required for specific customers.
- Educate and refer customers on available health resources and Aetna Care Management programs and community resources as appropriate.
- Collaborate with teams such as nutritionists, pharmacists, behavioral clinicians, health educators, doctors, providers, wellness service providers as well as other internal and external partners.
- Will serve as subject matter expert on wellness and health improvement opportunities available within Aetna and the community and provides support and training for sales partners as needed.
- Demonstrate positive outgoing personality, meets customer where they are on their journey to well-being.
- Display genuine focus on building trusting relationships and rapport with customers, internal partners and external vendors including wellness service providers.

- This position will work closely alongside County employees and Management, must have a team-centric approach.
- While this position is based in Lee County downtown Fort Myers Human Resources Office, this position will require occasional travel to multiple plan sponsor locations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in encouraging healthy lifestyle behavior changes in wellness areas including nutrition, physical activity, weight management, stress management, tobacco cessation.
- Must be organized, detailed, consistent, hold themselves and others accountable to reasonably meet customer's expectations.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills; advanced technical skills using PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams and presenting Wellness information to large groups.
- Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to Fort Myers downtown location.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in motivational interviewing, active listening skills, Transtheoretical Model, mindfulness-based and other evidence-based coaching techniques.

- ACE Certified Personal Trainer
- CPR / First Aid / AED Certified
- Certified Mental Health Coach
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Psychology, Communications or related field.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$46,988.00 - $91,800.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
