- Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm
- Required Travel: Travel to other sites required based upon department need
A Brief Overview:
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for diagnostic procedures requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology so that independent selection and modification of technical factors may produce optimal results. Capable of performing independently all procedures in the Fetal Diagnostic Center. Able to interpret the ultrasounds accurately. Technologist must demonstrate competency in the care of all patient age groups specific to Fetal Diagnostics.

- Knowledge of the federal, state and local laws that apply to job's area of responsibility.
- Ongoing growth and development from participation in events such as workshops, in-service programs and departmental meetings.
- Provides care based on physical, psychological, educational, and related criteria, appropriate to the age and type of the patients/customer served in their area.
- Positions patient.
- Documents procedure.
- Modifies technique as necessary.
- Interprets ultrasound.
- Reports abnormal findings in a timely manner.
- Educates patient about procedure.
- Schedules patients if necessary.
- Participates in unit QI plan.
- Attends appropriate in services at 80% level.
- Functions as preceptor: residents, medical students, ultrasonography students.
- Frequent and ongoing communication with RN for patient status, activities and work completed.
- Communicates effectively with team members and CNM.
- Consistently cooperates with others and demonstrates enthusiasm to promote team functioning.
- Recognizes and provides needed assistance to co-workers.
- Co-operates with co-workers and responds positively to direction and supervision.
- Demonstrates willingness to assist in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrates flexibility in work assignments.
- Communicates with patient and family showing caring and empathy.
What you will need:
- High School General Studies Required Or
- Diploma or Vocational Degree General Studies Required.
- Completion of formal ultrasound program approved by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographics required.
- Registry eligible Required Or
- Registered Ultrasonographer Preferred.
