Full Time 36 weekly hours, night shift - three 12-hour shifts per week (7a to 7p) weekends/holidays per unit needs

Critical Care Mixed Acuity Unit
Mixed Acuity Unit is both a critical care and telemetry unit specializing in medical critical care. Staff in this department will receive both critical care and telemetry training and will see the whole realm of nursing. Care ranges from young adult through geriatric patient population.
Job Summary
Registered Nurse implements the nursing process for each assigned to his/her care regardless of age (i.e. infancy to geriatric) and is responsible for the patient's care consistent with the Kentucky Nursing Laws and organizational policies and procedures. The registered nurse promotes positive patient outcomes and the delivery of quality patient care and initiates change through active involvement in the unit-based and hospital shared governance councils while contributing to a healthy professional practice environment.
National Professional Nursing Standards serve as guidelines for nurses as they utilize critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills and exercise appropriate nursing judgment. The registered nurse collaborates with the inter-professional team to enhance patient outcomes. The registered nurse serves as a role model through actively participating in the process of continuous professional development and lifelong learning. Utilizes the Nursing Process as the framework for providing care.

- Performs assessment/reassessment
- Develops plan of care utilizing appropriate evidence based standards of care.
- Provides care consistent with policies, procedures, current evidence based professional standards of practice and Baptist Health Louisville's nursing mission, vision, values and model of care.
- Evaluates patient response to treatment
- Applies critical thinking, clinical reasoning, organizational and leadership skills.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience
- Active Kentucky License
- BCLS Required within 90 days of employment.
- ACLS will be required within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduate nurses.
