Join our growing UNC Urgent Care provider team! This is an employed position with UNC Rex and is a shift-based model. Our provider team staffs our 9 UNC Rex based UNC Urgent Care clinics across Wake County, open 7 days a week, 8am-8pm. We see ages 4 months and older. Our team includes RNs, CMAs, Rad Techs, MOAs, Physicians, and APPs. We have on-site X-Ray and point of care testing. Our clinics are walk-in based with a reservation and wait time system. Summary:
An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high-quality, cost-effective care to patients within the APPs scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician. The APP reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Clinical: Obtains relevant health and medical history, performs thorough physical assessment, reviews and interprets pertinent diagnostic tests/results. Develops appropriate differential diagnoses and treatment plans including prescribing/ordering of pharmacological agents consistent with departmental guidelines. Maintains clear, comprehensive records of all aspects of patient care and prioritizes work to assist staff in providing prompt and efficient client flow.
- Education: Appropriately educates clients and/or families regarding medical conditions and collaborates with clinicians and staff to promote continuity of care.
- Leadership: Provides instruction to physicians and participates in community outreach programs.
- Professionalism: Interacts with patients and families in a respectful and timely manner, accepting responsibility for outcomes of one's work.
- Quality/Research: Engages in continuous quality improvement by identifying and implementing processes for improvement.
Other Information
Education Requirements:
● Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state of North Carolina. Board certification if required by the Department.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● No prior experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Demonstrated clinical competency, effective leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
