Clinical Dietitian 2 Specialty, Full Time
Location: UHealth Tower
Shift Days: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM
The Clinical Dietitian 2 (H) promotes good dietary health and treats medical conditions by devising eating plans for patients based on the science of nutrition. The Clinical Dietitian 2 (H) formulates and executes programs and materials to educate people about nutrition and coordinates, plans, and conducts programs to educate patients about nutrition. The Clinical Dietitian 2 (H) administers medical nutrition therapy and advises food service operations for assigned healthcare facilities.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Plans menus and inspects food to ensure portions adhere to set restrictions and dietary standards.
- Assesses patients’ nutritional status and develops individualized nutritional plans.
- Relays appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.
- Assists in the management of family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic phases of patients’ care.
- Triages patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.
- Documents and reports care in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Collaborates with development of educational materials.
- Identifies and accounts for specific ethnic, cultural, and religious needs.
- Responds to, resolves, and follows-up regarding patient inquiries or concerns.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Registered Dietitian (RDN/LDN).
- FL state license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
