Overview
Provides support to laboratory managers and staff within an assigned market to ensure the laboratory network produces a quality product in an appropriate service time daily. Provides technical training and support to Lab Managers and staff.
Responsibilities
Lab Support
- Assist in continued implementation of the ADDL Standard Operating Procedures to affiliated laboratories.
- Assist in the technical assessment and training of all ADDL employees.
- Assist in the technical assessment of prospective ADDL employees.
- Provide technical training and support to established ADDL laboratories as needed.
- Provide temporary, fill-in and new center opening coverage to all affiliated ADDL laboratories as necessary.
- Provide technical assistance and training for new center openings.
- Specific Management Responsibilities (each Laboratory within the assigned region).
Reporting
- Conduct regular site visits and provide written updates to the Director of Laboratory Operations Excellence as directed.
- Conduct monthly phone calls with Laboratory Manager and Practice Owner and/or Managing Dentist as needed.
- Conduct regular meetings with PO’s to ensure labs are meeting quality service requirements.
- Provides verbal reports to the Region Director of Laboratory Operations regarding concerns, issues and positives with in the Laboratory and Dental Center.
Laboratory and Dental Center Travel
- Trips for employee evaluations, employee training, analysis of workflow, resolving Laboratory personnel problems, interviews of Technicians, “trouble shooting” and responding to the needs of the resident Dentists.
- Emergency fill-in work for your region if a Technician is out of work.
- Evaluate and be prepared to report to the VP of Laboratory Operations, in writing, on the following issues:
- Laboratory/Dental Center relations
- Quality of cases
- Production and service time
- Laboratory personnel issues
- The facility
- Condition of the grounds
- Equipment
- Inventory/supply status
- S.H.A. compliance
- Comments from the Dentists about Laboratory performance
- Any other information pertinent to the Laboratory operation
- On-site laboratory record keeping/filing system (time sheets, warning notices, attendance controllers)

Qualifications
- Associates degree or BS degree desired or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in dental laboratory with increasing responsibilities andworking with multi-site hospitals/health systems and/or payers, health, vision, andpharmaceutical organizations.
- CDT required
- Extensive experience in dental operations and service
- Experience managing large networks of customer-facing operations. Healthcare experience a plus.
- Skilled in implementation of LEAN/Six Sigma preferred
