To our prospective teammates,
I’m the Regional Medical Director for our Intensivist program at Aiken Regional Medical Center, located in picturesque Aiken, South Carolina. I’ve been a part of Sound Critical Care since 2004, when I joined as a staff intensivist. I’m proud of the critical care team we have built in Aiken and welcome interest from new graduates and practicing Critical Care Physicians.
I’d like to share more about who we are and what we do — specifically about our people, practice, and purpose — as you consider your options:
People
- Our team has been part of the Aiken Regional Medical Center community for several years and is well supported and respected.
- Our team is comprised of clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds with a shared dedication to the practice of critical care medicine.
- Within the hospital, we work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure smooth transitions of care. We encourage our team members to be active participants in committees and to become part of the larger hospital team.

Practice
- Aiken Regional Medical Center is a 273-bed acute care hospital with award-winning care close to home. Aiken Regional Medical Center was the recipient of an “A” grade from The Leapfrog Group for their patient safety in addition to being recognized for their Heart Failure and Stroke care.
- Our ICU cares for medical and surgical patients with support from a full complement of medical subspecialists and offers the opportunity to interact with internal medical residents.
- We currently staff with one intensivist with support from our tele-intensivists at night.
- Intensivist led multidisciplinary rounds are a fundamental part of our practice and occur every day with active team participation.
