Bartlett Regional Hospital is searching for a Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist II to join our Psychiatric Emergency Services/Mobile Crisis Response team!

This position provides individual, family, and/or group behavioral health crisis stabilization services in an emergency department or outpatient/in-field setting. Primary duties include (but are not limited to):
- Perform triage, crisis assessment, crisis intervention, and stabilization; referral and linkage services for individuals in crisis who present to the emergency department or through the Mobile Integrated Health Program (MHIP). Provide general mental health services; implement program goals; provide skilled psychotherapeutic casework services to MIHP clients with mental illness, substance use, or neurodevelopmental disorders. The work environment is hospital (ED), office-based, and mobile, including visits to individuals in need of MIHP services who are in homeless shelters, residences, hotels, other public agencies, and the community at large. Foster relationships with external psychosocial agencies and organizations. Provide consultative services to other Municipal offices. Support other teams of the MIHP, as needed.
- Conduct individual assessments, including diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, safety planning, and referrals throughout the service continuum as appropriate. The nature of the services necessitates a brief solution-focused model.
- Work in collaboration with the BRH Psychiatric team which will include an assigned psychiatrist and mid-level providers. Collaborate effectively with other community providers and resources.
- Meet documentation standards in terms of timeliness and accuracy using Meditech as the primary Electronic Medical Record. Documentation must meet Bartlett Regional Hospital and CMS standards.
- Responsible for driving to various locations and using basic technology, such as laptops and mobile devices, to communicate and access resources. Participate in other hospital committees and teams as appropriate with particular focus on building strong working relationships with the Mental Health Unit, Bartlett Outpatient Psychiatric Services, and the Bartlett Emergency Department.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
- Education: Master’s degree in social work or behavioral sciences in a licensed discipline by the Alaskan Behavioral Regulatory Board.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as a behavioral health counselor.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider within 60 days of hire. Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) & Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT) training within 90 days of hire.
- License: Current State of Alaska Master’s Degree license such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT that meets third-party reimbursement requirements. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
