The Discovery Quantitative Analytical team at our Groton campus leverages state-of-the-art technologies, automation and novel methods for high-throughput characterization of lead chemical matter. We work in partnership with various disciplines to accelerate project progression and support the Pfizer portfolio as a whole.
What You Will Achieve
The qualified candidate will join a dynamic lab at the forefront of early drug discovery, employing an array of bioanalytical methodologies to detect new chemical entities in in vitro biopharmaceutical screening samples. The individual will work collaboratively with teams to execute fit-for-purpose analyses across established support platforms. The candidate will also assist with development of new technologies and/or capabilities that accelerate discovery operations.
How You Will Achieve It
- Support high-throughput in vitro biopharmaceutical screening operations using liquid-chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC-MS)
- Collaborate with various teams to support bioanalysis of complex in vitro pharmacokinetic assays
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot specialized LC-MS instrumentation and platforms
- Document experimental results, perform critical review of data, and present findings internally and externally
- Interact with peers and leaders in a multidisciplinary team, organize, prioritize and multitask effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Have
- BS or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology or related discipline with 1-2 years laboratory experience
- Familiarity with in vitro laboratory techniques
- Experience operating laboratory equipment and/or automation
- A commitment to timely delivery of quality work and overcoming obstacles in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstration of excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills
Nice-To-Have
- BS in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry
- Hands-on experience with liquid chromatography and/or mass spectrometry systems and software
- Experience with small molecule LC-MS method development
- Experience with plate-based in vitro techniques
- Familiarity with liquid-handling automation
- Familiarity with troubleshooting of instrumentation and/or processes based on experimental data
- An ability to collaborate with team members in immediate group and across disciplines
- Strong command of Microsoft Office software suite

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $54,700.00 to $91,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
