Are you passionate about empowering families and ensuring children are ready for school? Vogel is seeking a dedicated Clinical Family Support Specialist to provide direct support to families in our Head Start and Early Head Start programs. In this vital role, you’ll coordinate services through case management, home visits, and family needs assessments while helping parents set and achieve their personal and family goals. Your work will be grounded in building positive, goal-oriented relationships with families, supporting their engagement, and connecting them with essential community resources.
By offering encouragement and guidance, you'll help parents create stable environments, contributing to healthier, school-ready children. As part of our team, you'll be expected to familiarize yourself with important care models, including the Pyramid Model, Conscious Discipline, and Trauma-Informed Care—all of which guide our approach to supporting families at Vogel.

This is a full-time salaried position with a salary range of $65,000 - $72,500 per year.

Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.
What you’ll do
- Maintain funded enrollment level in accordance with Head Start of Greater Dallas:
- Conduct interviews with applicants to verify information on their application and determine the eligibility of children/families, ensuring all family documentation is accurate and complete.
- Process applications in a timely manner and ensure families are aware of the application process for enrollment into the Early Head Start or Head Start program.
- Work in partnership with the Assistant Director of Early Childhood Programs ensuring all Early Head Start families are fully enrolled into our school approved data system.
- Maintain wait lists and identify families with the highest need.
- Assist with ongoing recruitment efforts:
- Participate in recruitment and promotion events to share applications and information on the program.
- Distribute marketing and recruitment materials to local businesses.
- Work with teaching/admin staff and currently enrolled families to encourage their participation in the recruitment of new families.
- Assist with parent orientation in giving an overview of the program and services provided.
- Provide support services to promote and restore positive functioning:
- Conduct quarterly home visits with families assigned to address family needs in the Family Partnership Agreement.
- Set goals and provide coaching to parents to reach those goals.
- Assist families directly or through referrals with various needs, including education, employment, and health.
- Responsible for Parent Engagement and Community Partnership Building:
- Establish cooperative referral relationships with other agencies and continually be aware of available community resources.
- Develop connections with appropriate community and government resources.
- Communicate and maintain working relationships:
- Work cooperatively with other team members and demonstrate a strong ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
- Support families to obtain required health and dental exams.
- Complete a variety of informational reports:
- Provide data entry/documentation for all family and agency contacts.
- Perform all job duties in compliance with safety guidelines:
- Follow Vogel and Head Start rules as well as sound work and safety practices.
What will make you successful in this role (skills)
- Master's degree in social work, with full licensure at the LMSW level.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Head Start or Early Head Start program, REQUIRED.
- Must possess effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be physically able and willing to walk, kneel, stoop, bend, and sit on the floor.
