Shift: Nights, 7p-7:30a, 12×4, 48 hrs per week, will also consider 36 hrs
Length: 13 weeks
Weekend: Every other but not GTE
Requirements:
- OR license
- 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Tele/PCU (PCU and neuro stepdown experience)
- Experience with cardiac drips (nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone, Nicardipine, other IMCU LOC gtts)
- Must have Tele experience
- Skills: IV start, Telemetry
- AHA BLS
- NIHHS cert preferred
- ACLS preferred
- Charting: Epic
- Skills: Conscious Sedation, Vents preferred
Others:
- Locals accepted
- Clinician will float if needed
- Patient Diagnoses: Cerebral infarction, spinal stenosis, sepsis, transient cerebral ischemic attack, intervertebral disc disorders, traumatic subdural hemorrhage, cerebral infarction and spondylolisthesis
- Nurse to patient ratios: RN 1:3-4, CNA 1:6-13 on days and 1:10-13 on nights

Located on the seventh floor of Building A, the 30-bed neurotrauma care unit (NTCU) serves patients with a wide variety of brain or nervous system disorders, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, meningitis, encephalitis, strokes, and spinal injuries. The NTCU prides itself on providing outstanding patient care.
In this unit, staff are trained in NIHSS, swallow screen and spine immobilization. The NTCU is a proud recipient of the Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center (PSC) Certification and Joint Commission Spine Center of Excellence Certification and works very closely with our Stroke Navigator.
