Postdoctoral Researcher, Chemical Biology

Organization Overview:
Protomer Technologies is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lilly, focusing on insulins, chemical biology, molecular switches, and peptidic macrocycles platforms. This position is centered on deep technology development in chemical biology and diabetes medicines.
The candidate is expected to help develop strategy, direction, and manage scientific group milestones based on an ambitious long-term strategic plan.
The ideal candidate will significantly contribute and lead a highly integrated, agile, and collaborative team effort, independently leading scientific efforts and shaping team science.
Responsibilities:
- Lead projects in chemical biology or peptide frameworks, combining aspects of molecule design and conjugation.
- Initiate and lead new projects, formulating and executing strategies for technical development.
- Develop scientific insights and advances that can lead to high-impact publications.
- Collaborate within the group while providing independent perspectives and contributing to strategy.
- Lead molecule engineering efforts in the context of scientific advances.
- Enhance platform technology efforts at Protomer.
- Inspire collaboration and commitment to high-quality scientific hypotheses.
- Prioritize safety at all times, striving toward a proactive safety culture.
- Advocate for diversity and inclusion in recruiting, retaining, and developing scientists.
- Work effectively and professionally with colleagues at Protomer and across Lilly.
Basic Requirements:
- PhD in chemistry, biology, synthetic chemistry, chemical biology, or related field with significant experience and a proven track record of research success.
- Excellent team player with strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and learning agility.

- Strong communication skills with employees, team members, and leadership.
- Ability to think strategically and drive continuous improvement.
Additional Information:
- Some domestic and international travel is anticipated.
