This is an excellent opportunity to join Banner Health and work at both the Boswell and Del Webb Emergency departments! As an RN for Banner Staffing Services you will self-schedule a minimum of 2 shifts per month. There are opportunities for both Day and Night shift as well as to pick up shifts at other Banner Health locations.
- You must have a minimum of 18 months of RN work experience.
- You must have a minimum of 12 months of recent work experience in the Emergency Dept (within the last year and a half).
- BLS, ACLS and PALS is required upon hire.
- Orientation is a full time, week long commitment. You must be available to attend both virtual and in-person training classes during your first week.
Banner Boswell Medical Center is located in Sun City, AZ and has been the anchor of community health for more than 40 years specializing in diseases of the elderly. The Emergency Department (ED) primarily cares for adults in need of emergency services. Pediatrics are also treated and either discharged home or transferred to an accepting pediatric center. The ER department consists of 42 licensed beds and utilizes robust throughput measures to expedite care while focusing on providing an exceptional patient experience.
Banner Del Webb Medical Center is located in Sun City West, AZ and is the hospital of choice for many within our community. We are deeply committed to providing the highest quality of clinical care along with an excellent patient care experience. The Emergency Department (ED) primarily cares for adults in need of emergency services. The department consists of 46 licensed beds and utilizes the split flow model concept for patients who do not require a bed and are not in a critical state.
Banner Staffing Services (BSS) offers Registry/Per Diem opportunities within Banner Health. Registry/Per Diem positions are utilized as needed within our facilities. These positions are great way to start your career with Banner Health. As a BSS team member, you are eligible to apply (at any time) as an internal applicant to any regular opportunities within Banner Health. When working Per Diem you must work at least 2 shifts a month.
As a BSS RN, you will be eligible for the Banner Bedside Commitment opportunities (Formally Banner Travel). Banner Staffing RNs can pick up 8, 10, or 13 week commitments at a wide variety of Banner facilities in the following states: Wyoming, Nevada, Nebraska, California, Arizona, and Colorado.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
