CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time – 37.5 hours/week
ANNUAL SALARY: $110 – $115K
JOB SUMMARY:
This position supports regional clinical quality improvement initiatives, maintains and strengthens relationships with member hospitals, birth centers, and ambulatory care facilities, and ensures compliance with N.J.A.C. §8:33C sections related to quality improvement, regional transport systems, and data reporting. The position is also responsible for managing clinical data systems, analyzing and presenting data, responding to requests from stakeholders, and working collaboratively with clinical and nonclinical partners. The position serves as a leader who maintains and disseminates deep knowledge of quality improvement, evidence-based clinical practice, and health equity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Utilize skill sets in process improvement, quality improvement, change management, and team communication to develop and grow both current and new region projects/programs in collaboration with member hospitals.
- Manage clinical datasets, develop data import processes, write queries, and interpret data; independently identify trends, draw conclusions, and make recommendations to support regional quality improvement projects.
- Serve as a leader to identify evidence-based strategies, including those related to health equity, disseminate them regionally, and support stakeholders to increase adoption of these strategies.
- Provide staff support to the Quality Improvement (QI) Committee of the Board of Trustees, including scheduling, preparation, and presentation of regional data as required by N.J.A.C. §8:33C and by Committee request.
- Survey and gather information from member hospitals, based on requests from QI Committee, NJ Department of Health, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate to support member hospitals in the implementation of QI activities, particularly in running reports and providing data analysis assistance.
- Support the development of written needs assessments for Partnership grant applications and other documents, gathering data from a variety of sources including but not limited to member hospital birth certificate data, NJ Department of Health, and US Department of Health and Human Services, and US Census Bureau.
- Provide ongoing support and training to hospital staff on electronic birth certificate software, including supporting improvement of data quality.
- Serve as organizational lead to develop & maintain birth certificate data system, write and run queries, and perform data manipulation and analysis as needed to support planning, quality improvement, grants, and other organizational needs.
- Present complex data, including clinical data, to a wide variety of audiences in a clear and understandable way. This includes the development and delivery of written, graphical, and technical data presentations.
- Collaborate to develop Regional Perinatal and Pediatric Plan and Plan Updates as required by N.J.A.C. §8:33C.
- Serve as the organizational lead to ensure compliance with N.J.A.C. §8:33C regulations related to Quality Improvement, Regional Transport System, and all data and reporting requirements.
- Serve as a resource to the Professional Clinical Education functions at the organization, including attending Committee meetings and informing topic selection based on quality improvement initiatives.
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding NJ Administrative Code regulations governing maternal child health consortia, hospitals, and ambulatory care facilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BS Nursing, RN with current NJ license. MSN preferred.
- Five or more years’ obstetric or neonatal nursing experience in a clinical setting.
- Five or more years’ experience implementing quality improvement projects.
- Self-starter capable of developing their own processes and protocols and who can work creatively.
- Strong technology skills, experience with clinical data analysis required.
- Exceptionally strong data interpretation skills, including the ability to present graphical data are required.
- Ability to patiently train and support technology users of varying skill levels with a customer service orientation is required.
- The position also requires the ability to independently manage multiple ongoing projects while remaining responsive to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
