The Rheumatology Physician will be responsible for providing complete clinical care for all patients under the direction of the Medical Director and by written protocols. A rheumatology physician works in conjunction with the medical director to implement and maintain quality care programs.
Rheumatologist - diagnose and treat injuries or illnesses relating to musculoskeletal disease and systemic autoimmune conditions affecting joints, muscles, and bones. Examine patients; take medical histories; prescribe medications; and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.
General job duties include:
· Document and update charts and patient information to show findings and treatments
· Order tests and consultations for other physicians or healthcare staff to perform
· Review test results to identify abnormal findings
· Conduct research to look for the causes of and better treatments for rheumatic diseases
· Recommend, design, and implement a short or long-term treatment plan – including joint/tendon injections, referrals to physical or occupational therapy, etc.
· Address concerns or answer questions that patients have about their health and well-being
· Help patients take care of their health by discussing topics such as proper care and hygiene
· Management of services in accordance with established Clinic’s policies/procedures and contracted service under CHDP, Managed Medical Care and other medical programs and guidelines
Family Practitioner - Diagnose, treat, and provide preventive care to individuals and families across the lifespan. Examine patients; take medical histories; prescribe medications; and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.
General job duties include:
- Document and update charts and patient information to show findings and treatments
- Order tests and consultations for other physicians or healthcare staff to perform
- Review test results to identify abnormal findings
- Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care in triage situations
- Provide case management with other health care team members
- Recommend, design, and implementa long-term treatment plan
- Address concerns or answer questions that patients have about their health and well-being
- Help patients take care of their health by discussing topics such as proper nutrition and hygiene
- Management of services in accordance with established Clinic’s policies/procedures and contracted service under CHDP, Managed Medical Care and other medical programs and guidelines
Required Education/Experience and or Licensure/Certifications
- Working knowledge of e-scripts
- Active California Medical License (M.D. or D.O.)
- Current BLS Certification
- CPR Card (Adult, Child and Infant)
- Medi-Care & Medi-Cal Provider
