Description
The Embryologist I at Assure Fertility Partners of New Jersey will work in a collaborative relationship with the Laboratory Director and/or Supervisor and other team members, as well as with other department employees. This position is responsible for performing high-quality IVF laboratory medical procedures. The Embryologist consults and advises other staff groups/members regarding IVF laboratory procedures and outcomes, and human assisted reproductive techniques (ART).
Responsibilities
- Independently handles embryology processes including egg retrievals, embryo transfers, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection, Assisted Hatching, sperm preparation, embryo culturing, embryo evaluation and monitoring, cryopreservation of embryos, eggs and sperm, biopsy for Preimplantation Genetics Testing and lab processes associated with IVF urology procedures (TESE/MESA).
- Participate in Laboratory Operations as directed.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and departmental records and filing clinical documents.
- Must demonstrate an aptitude for performance of laboratory services.
- Must demonstrate good work ethic with motivation for learning laboratory procedures.
- Aptitude to work independently and demonstrate good judgment.
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
- Knowledge of office procedures and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.).
- Participate in communication with co-workers.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Reproductive Biology, or Animal Science.
- 0-2 years of prior experience in a human IVF laboratory preferred.
- Ability to participate with a schedule that includes rotating weekends.
