As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will change lives through education by providing speech and language therapy services and specialized support that helps students improve their communication and learning skills. Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying students needing specialized speech or language services and providing support that enables them to thrive academically.
- Facilitating individual and/or group therapy activities and providing progress reports as needed.
- Supervising support staff and consulting with fellow educators regarding accommodations and instructional strategies.
- Providing augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language disorders.
- Creating a classroom environment that cultivates learning and engages students.
- Utilizing direct instruction techniques to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
- Exploring individual needs and providing personalized support for each student.
- Mastering our proven curriculum and guiding the learning process toward curriculum goals.
- Encouraging students to uphold values and model good character.
Meet the qualifications that set you up for success
- Master’s degree in Speech or Speech Audiology.
- Current national and state certifications: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence, QBS Certificate, Speech Language Pathologist Certificate from the State Department of Education, and a State License from the Department of Health Services.
- Ability to create positive energy that fuels school spirit and build significant connections with students and parents.
- Willingness to participate in events outside of normal hours and travel between campuses as required.
